The perfect play toy for picnics, play dates, or rainy days, this is a classic, multi-generational game that will be enjoyed time and time again. There are 24 wooden coins made from all natural wood and measure 1 and 1/2 inch in diameter. They are sanded to a smooth finish and are soft to the touch. Each set includes 12 pairs of original, whimsical, black ink drawings. Each image has been hand drawn creating imaginative pictures with character. Adding a finishing touch is a drawstring pouch to collect and pocket the pieces when they are not in use. Each set makes a unique gift for both parents and children to enjoy together.

I have seen many types of alphabet and number art while out and about and thought it would be fun to try my hand at designing some of my own. The result was this really fun and funky art piece for my daughter’s bright and colorful toddler room. A new game just in time for Spring and big enough for small hands! This game was inspired by my little ones who are always more cooperative getting from point A to point B when they pretend to be an animal. There are 25 different wooden coins with a verb and insect 🐌 🐛 🕷 🐜 printed on each one. The objective is to embody an insect one at a time as you draw them from the pouch. You can play charades and have your family/friends guess which insect you are or you can do a team work exercise and have everyone join in on the insect-action fun! Great for little bug enthusiasts and performers!

I created this set after our wildly popular Animal Action play set. These are great mindfulness tools and body movement / kinesthetic tools. As well as speech therapy and body awareness.

What better way to approach a problem than with some tools? Sticks & Stones is a great open-ended task in differentiation and creative play. These colorful items leave a lot of room for creative exploration. Create a modern work of art by arranging the items on a blank table canvas. Center the sticks in a pile with a stone border and pretend you are making a rainbow campfire. Try to balance the sticks with stones on top. Match the colors. Line them up in rainbow order, from smallest to biggest – and try again from biggest to smallest. Which one feels the heaviest? Which one weighs the least? Which items is the tallest? Is it easier to balance a stone on the tallest stick or shortest stick? Which size stone balances most easily on a stick? Differentiation skills are important for practical, everyday life; early reading; and are just plain fun to figure out. There are so many open-ended ways to use this set. These differentiation puzzles are somewhat self-correcting. If you have them in the proper order, by the rainbow: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, they are in the correct size order from Smallest → Biggest.

As with all of the toys in the Rainbow Series, this set is not intended for little ones who still mouth things and is not meant to get wet. This set has small pieces and could pose a choking hazard risk. As with all toys, supervision is advised.

Oh the sweet sounds, sights, and tastes of Philadelphia - the City of Brotherly Love. We recently participated in a Culture Share project with other families around the world; and, I had the pleasure of rediscovering the City of Brotherly Love with my little ones in tow while researching, drawing, and exploring our wonderfully cultural, diverse, and historical city. We created a little story about our journey through the city filled with fun native facts (and Wikipedia finds). This particular edition would make a unique way to study Philadelphia in a homeschool or for-the-fun-of-it setting!
