    * All of my creations were made with your little one in mind. Each piece was designed to nurture child development through open-ended play. These pieces can be used to broaden your little one's understanding and knowledge of our world and were created as early educational toys. I am inspired by the teachings of Montessori; the natural beauty of Waldorf; and incorporate a myriad of other learning-through-play philosophies when I design. It makes me smile to see my made-with-love pieces being toted for use as preschool toys and in natural play settings. Thank you for helping me support little minds, bodies, and imaginations through engaging, hands-on play and discovery.

*Note: This toy is not intended for children who still mouth things. The balls measure ¾ inch in diameter. I use this as a “monitored” or “guided” toy with my little one. As with any toy, children should be supervised while at play. *

*Note: Color Varies from batch to batch depending on the watercolor wash and how the wood accepts it. *

    Animal Action

    $29.00

A new game just in time for Spring and big enough for small hands! This game was inspired by my little ones who are always more cooperative getting from point A to point B when they pretend to be an animal. There are 25 different wooden coins with a verb and animal printed on each one. The object is to embody an animal one at a time as you draw them from the pouch. You can play charades and have your family/friends guess which animal you are or you can do a team work exercise and have everyone join in on the animal-action fun! Great for little animal enthusiasts and performers!

Need to put them to bed for the evening? Tuck them into their drawstring pouch for easy put-away. Or have you little one plop them into an empty tissue box – a game sure to inspire your little one’s growing fine motor skills with a rewarding clink. Clink. Clink.

Each wooden piece measures approximately 2” in diameter and ¼” thick. They are sturdy enough for toddler-action-play.

Each set comes with 25 pieces (1 of each different animal friend).X

Mama May I Explore? Why, yes…Most definitely!

Eye-Spy with My Little Eye…is a game I often go to when we are out and about and I need some cooperation. There is something magical about surprises…about finding things you weren’t expecting…about seeing the world, actually seeing the world, when you look out upon it. There is something enchanting about taking notice of things – the big and the small – life’s little details. Boring be the walk without conversation, investigation, or play. My little explorer loves findings things. She loves to discover new sights, sounds…and to collect little treasures from our journeys.

Give your little adventurer the satisfaction of play with purpose in this magical exploration – a traditional game – a scavenger hunt - with some hidden learning built in. Enjoy the journey as a single, a duo, or group – taking in sights and sounds and searching for the magic of everyday things – “hidden” in plain sight.

    The Set You Get:

13 Wooden Scavenger hunt cards (for a total of 25 “Things to Find”) created by me
Moleskine journal to jot down your adventures / draw the things you can’t collect
    Mini pen for such doodles
Muslin pouch for easy toting and treasure collecting

Though anyone is welcome to participate in this magical find-me game, I have found 4 to be the perfect age for actually getting excited to play the “game” – trying to find the things on the cards; collecting treasures; drawing findings; and investigating our surroundings. Played as a group, however, this makes the perfect something for family fun night - walks…talks…and exploration, because you can play at any age or skill level.

    Count With Me

    $39.00

Our World is filled with numbers. On signs, in magazines, books, money. You count with numbers. Pay with numbers. Discount with numbers. Paint by numbers. Help your little one better understand this crazy world of Numerals, Numbers, Counting, and Mathematics with this simple wooden Count With Me Play Set. Help deepen your little Mathematician's understanding of numbers 1-10 - both their numerals, written form, as well as what they represent. Stack up the circular coins to show the volume of what each numeral stands for...or lay the in a line - like a graph - to give a pictorial image of what all those numbers mean. Help build you little one's understanding of one-to-one ratios and number recognition while enhancing fine motor skills and playing with mathematics at play time. You can use the number cards as "money" or the coins as "change" while pretending to run a shop or restaurant. Our world is filled with numbers - let your little one explore it with these hands-on, open-ended play pieces.

    Each play set comes with:

    - 10 Number Boards - with both the numeral and number words written on them to support number recognition
    - 55 circular coins that can be stacked for better number comprehension - what does five look like stacked? What does 5 look like laid out flat? --- Enough coins to visualize all the Number Boards simultaneously
    - A wooden box for easy clean up and storage

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

    - Each Number Board measures approximately 3" square
    - Each circular coin measures approximately 1" in diameter

*All the pieces are left in their natural wooden state. I suppose you could paint them if you wanted to, but I would suggest using all the same color so that when little ones are relating the numbers to one another they can more easily visual the difference between them.

The pieces in the Count With Me Play Set are small and could pose a choking hazard. Children should always be supervised while at play.

Oh, the Rainbow World in which we live. I’m surrounded by it. Colors. Patterns. Textures. I am inspired by its vibrant nature. My little ones are engaged by its intense color. I am excited to be offering a new line of products complimentary to all the others before them. Amazed and enthused, I watched little hands at my last craft show take pieces from this set and bring them over to that set. They combined the colors and shapes and pretended their way through storylines created. I got a front row seat…watching as the imagination of childhood thought unfolded. Play.

How I am awed by these mind-full tinkerings…Every Time. And here, in this new collection, you will find more pieces to gather, collect, manifest, pretend, play, and explore. Beautiful enough to display in any nursery, child’s room, or home. The colors suck you in and soon you will find yourself playing with them. Tinkering with the colorful pieces. Telling stories with their whimsical shapes. Incorporating them in everyday play. And learning with their little details and simplistic nature.

Let these hand shaped, hand stamped, hand painted pieces inspire your little one’s imaginative thinking and let the rainbow nurture discovery through the magic of open-ended play.

    Meet these adorable Balance Birds...

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stack them. Build Them. Listen to your little Scientist chirp with excitement as these rainbow feathered friends go higher and higher. And they all fall down. Challenging your little scientist with these whimsical critters is sure to leave you singing…or squawking. But delighted to know there is a Science lesson “built” into every playtime. Though not impossible, balancing the six birds altogether can be tricky. But they certainly are beautiful. They certainly are colorful. They certainly are fun. And they will surely delight any naturalist. Or bird lover. Challenge your little explorer to a gravity game….perhaps only balancing one bird on top of another. As little minds better understand physics, little hands will begin to learn where best to place each bird in order to balance more. Invite these colorful friends into your home and watch the magic of science unfold (or fall down)…listen to the sound of bird stories taking flight…and see if you can figure out how best to nest these colorful critters and Balance Birds.

Each Balance Bird measures approximately 2.5" tall and 5.5" wide. Each has been hand cut, sanded, stamped, painted with a nontoxic soy based paint wash, and then lightly coated with an organic combination of beeswax and jojoba oil to keep the pieces vibrant.
